The UMO Board.

Our board of volunteer members is committed to improving outcomes in the state of Utah, elevating midwifery and fostering professional connections. Our Board members dedicate many hours each month to the UMO’s mission. In addition to serving on the UMO board, many of our board members volunteer on other committees and initiatives related to maternal and newborn outcomes in Utah.

President - Bryanna Hazelwood, CPM LDEM

Bryanna is the owner and midwife of Tooele Midwifery, Clinical Assessment Coordinator for Midwives College of Utah, and a NARM and MCU preceptor. She is a proud member of the First Nations, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. In addition to running her own practice and serving as president of the Utah Midwives Organization, Bryanna volunteers on Utah’s Maternal and Infant Mortality Review Committees as the American Indian & Alaskan Native Advocate as well as multiple committees for UWNQC.

Secretary - Fara Bitter CPM LDEM

Fara is the owner and midwife of Mountain Creek Midwifery.

Director of Professional Accountability - Bonnie Baker

Bonnie is the owner and midwife of Davis County Midwives. In addition to running her birth center and home birth practice, she is a liaison for UWNQC, volunteers for various committees including Birth Bridges, Newborn Transfer Guidelines, Local Hospital Training Initiative, and is a peer review facilitator. Bonnie started the Prison Project with the UDC in 2021 and continues to provide prenatal education classes to incarcerated women through this program.

Lindsay is the owner and midwife of Indigo Midwifery, a home birth practice in northern Utah and southern Idaho.

Amber is a student midwife with Indigo Midwifery. In addition to training as a midwife, her commitment to improving outcomes is seen through her work as a postpartum doula in her community.
